A Badische Zeitung interview about lateral thinking

In an interview with Hagen Späth for the Badische Zeitung, our managing director Florian Seibold faced critical questions about the word “Querdenker”, an allusion to our company name, which in German has since been claimed by a political movement.

Mr Seibold, are you a Querdenker?

“My colleagues and I do not see ourselves as part of the political debate. We are not opposed to vaccination, and we do not take part in the movement's demonstrations. We are simply ordinary engineers who want to do good work.”

Ever since the company was founded in 2014, lateral thinking has meant one thing to us: looking at technical and product problems from every direction in order to find the best solution for our clients.

After some indignant reactions to our name, the excitement has died down somewhat, and most people can now look at the situation of querdenker engineering with a little distance and a wink. Asked about the challenges of the pandemic, Mr Seibold named the difficult supply of materials. It drives up costs considerably, in prototype building for instance, and those costs are hard to pass on after the fact.
