semf: the new embedded engineering library

Why optimise only our own processes for efficiency and quality when our findings and our way of working can become a product in their own right? What if such a product could cut development effort in half and let you concentrate on the interesting applications of embedded software development, because the groundwork and a wide range of basic functions are already there? Would that not be worth having for any ambitious embedded systems developer?

Absolutely. Enough of the conditional; into practice. semf is available now and already in use at the first external partners. We are delighted to have brought our second own product to market, and best of all, we are contributing something to modern C++ programming.

So what exactly is in semf?

semf is a smart framework for embedded software development that keeps the resulting software future-proof and platform-independent. It gives embedded developers components and libraries that make life considerably easier. Every component can be configured without effort and, thanks to the open class architecture, adapted where needed.

On top of that, existing HAL layers can be used free of charge, extended with the help of an implementation guide, or commissioned from us. Because every building block in semf meets the requirements of safety-critical software (SIL 1 to SIL 3 to IEC 62304, for instance), our accompanying documentation reduces the effort for certification considerably.

Our embedded developers have been working with semf on internal projects for some time and are on hand to advise. For further tips and tricks there is a network of C++ trainers. That makes both the first steps into the C++ world and the delivery of complex embedded projects enjoyable.
