The article covers the thorough relaunch of the VADOplex therapy device, which querdenker engineering delivered on behalf of OPED.
The rework of the VADOplex covered hardware and software development, the programming of a PC tool, integration with the ERP system and the management of approval. Alongside improvements to the therapy algorithm, a great deal of attention went into keeping the device fit for the future, connectivity in particular. The aim of the relaunch was a high-quality therapy device optimised for use, designed for a service life of more than ten years and easy to repair.
The VADOplex contains a great deal of embedded software and therefore has to meet international safety standards. As part of the contract development, querdenker engineering prepared the complete approval documentation to IEC 62304 and accompanied the approval process on behalf of the client.
The core tasks in the further development of the product were:
- embedded software development and programming of the therapy algorithm
- programming a PC application with a USB interface for users to import data
- programming a data interface to the ERP system for better process management
- hardware: schematic development and PCB design
- software development and approval documentation to IEC 62304
