Working remotely at querdenker engineering

An interview with Martin, who has been with querdenker engineering GmbH for a year and works remotely one hundred per cent of the time.

Question: what do you do at querdenker engineering? Martin: my main work is developing embedded systems. That ranges from the concept, usually worked out together with our clients, through to implementing the software and delivering it.

Question: what do you see as the advantages of remote work? Martin: the biggest one is definitely the time saved on the daily commute.

Question: and the challenges? Martin: one clear stumbling block is having less personal contact with colleagues than a day at the office normally brings. Beyond that, remote work means laboratory equipment and other kit has to be provided at my remote workplace.

Question: how have you found remote work so far? Martin: for project work in particular I like it a great deal. The variety of projects means the subject matter keeps changing. Working closely with everyone involved in a project is rewarding.
